      five353can, Good question. Yes, I think children with autism do have different needs. Unfortunately, I think that they are often put at a disadvantage by society. Sometimes there is a lack of understanding about autism in general, which can clearly have a negative impact. On a more positive light, however, I think that our educational system is much better equipped nowadays to provide appropriate support for children with autism. In the past, children may have really struggled with schooling if they had autism and it would have been a massive disadvantage. Thankfully, now there is a lot more support in place which can assist with differing needs.
