Yes, definitely, but I like a challenge 🙂 Some great questions have been asked and always good to connect with others and pass on information about the profession and how we can understand mental health from a psychological perspective.
Everything can be challenging at times- but that’s what makes the reward and sense of satisfaction that much better! The good thing about science is that if you do get really bored of your particular area, you will have learnt some incredible knowledge and skills that are transferable to your next focus!
Carrying out scientific research can be challenging, things like finding participants to take part can be difficult and analysing data can be time consuming and sometimes a bit repetitive. But it is also very rewarding and interesting and worth it in the end!
Sometimes! It can be challenging to think of the best way to answer a particular research question. This is especially true in psychology, when you’re dealing with people, as they can be quite unpredictable. It is also a well known fact that if we know we’re being watched, we are quite likely to act differently than when we’re not being watched. In the same way, it can be difficult to measure things like attitudes as the way a question is worded can change how someone thinks about the topic. And if you want to measure someone’s eating behaviour, you can’t simply say “so, tell me what you have eaten for the last month” because people won’t remember. Sometimes we have to be creative with how we measure these things, to make sure that we get the real story!
