For me, I like to switch off from work and do regular things (chill out, see family/friends, make evening meals, etc.). I’m lucky that I work with some nice people and we often have a drink after work or go to our Psychology in the Pub series in Stoke (where we host talks in a local pub for anyone with an interest in Psychology). I turn off my emails and don’t look at social media when I’m not working.
I quite enjoy going to the cinema with my husband – it’s a chance to spend time together without being on our phones or iPad, and we both enjoy watching films.
In the summer I also enjoy spending time in the garden (when it’s not raining – I’ve not been able to get out there much this week!!) or watching TV
I’ve recently been doing a lot of calligraphy and card-making which really helps me switch off. I would say I’m quite a creative person so I much prefer doing some crafts, gardening or cooking after work than just watching TV (although there’s nothing wrong with a netflix binge now and again!).
