The fact that it is rewarding and I feel like I am making a difference to someone’s life. I also like being nosey and looking around people’s workplaces!

I like being able to research any question that I have. I also find hearing about people’s experiences of various mental health related issues to be rewarding and often inspiring – some people have very difficult experiences and challenging circumstances yet are very resilient and hopeful.

I like meeting new people and constantly learning new things about psychology… that’s cool. More importantly though, i like to think that somehow what I’m doing helps people.

Doing this ‘meet the scientists’ is also pretty cool… I wouldn’t be able to do this and speak to you guys if I didn’t do my job!

Having the freedom to be able to research whatever I want (when I have the time!). I also quite enjoy teaching, which is just as well as that is what I do most of the time
